Since rapid delivery companies are failing left and right, the idea of quick commerce is dead.

 

JOKR has exited the U.S. market. Gorillas has cut staff and is shifting to a profitability focus as future funding has dried up. Fifteentwenty, Buyk, Fridge No More are out. Getir is reportedly cutting staff. Gopuff is even having to delay an IPO.

 

The thinking goes something like consumers never asked for 15-minute delivery and they don’t even rate it as a top priority for their grocery shopping needs. The difficultly in batching orders for 15 minutes means there is no way to make the model profitable.
